Step 2: Apply Your Artwork

1
From Your Image Gallery
  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Images or your Image Gallery
  2. Find the artwork you want to use
  3. Click on the image to view details
  4. Click "Create Product" to open Pixerr Studio, or use Store Setup to create starter products from several types at once
2
Select Product Type in Pixerr Studio

Browse the Studio product catalog and select what you want to create. Consider:

  • Design Orientation: Vertical artwork works better on phone cases, horizontal on t-shirts
  • Colors: Bright designs pop on dark products, subtle designs on light products
  • Detail Level: Highly detailed artwork shows better on larger items (posters, blankets)
  • Margins: Some products need safe zones (phone cases have camera cutouts)
3
Preview & Adjust

In Pixerr Studio, use fit, crop, and placement tools to:

  • Position: Center, fill, or custom placement on the print area
  • Scale: Resize your artwork to meet print-quality targets
  • Rotate: Adjust orientation if needed
  • Preview: Review photoreal mockups before you publish

Important: Make sure your design doesn't get cut off at edges or overlap important product features!

Working with transparency

For apparel, phone cases, mugs, and most print areas, use a PNG with a transparent background so the product color shows through instead of a white or gray box around your art. See Artwork Requirements for file types and print-safe sizes.

In Pixerr Studio
  • Upload or pick a transparent PNG from your gallery when you open a product.
  • The mockup preview uses a checkerboard behind clear areas so you can see what will print vs. what stays empty.
  • When your PNG has open space around the design, Studio shows Quick layout fixes: Shrink 5%, Shrink 10%, Expand 5%, Center, Fit safely, and Reset (restores your original upload).
  • Use Fit safely if edges look too close to the trim line; use Shrink if the art feels oversized on the product.
  • Reset undoes prep and returns to the image you started with—handy if you want to try placement again from scratch.
From Ask Pixerr (chat)
  • Ask for an image with a transparent background when you generate or apply art (for example, for an iPhone case).
  • On a product preview card, use Fix transparency to regenerate art with a clear background, or say Regenerate with a transparent background.
  • You can also ask to add a little transparent margin around my art or center the design—the assistant routes those to the same prep tools when appropriate.

White box on the mockup? Your file likely has a solid white background instead of transparency. Re-export as PNG with transparency removed in your editor, regenerate with a transparent background, or use Fix transparency on the chat card.

Step 3: How pricing works

Physical products: Pixerr sets each listing’s store price from the product’s base manufacturing cost plus a platform markup. You do not enter a per-product retail price when publishing today. Digital image downloads are different—you choose the price in your gallery ($1–$999).

What happens on a physical product sale

When a customer checks out, amounts are split roughly like this (example on a $25 listing):

Component Example Who sets it
Store price (what the customer pays) $25.00 Pixerr (catalog base + markup)
Base cost (manufacturing & shipping) $12.00 Product catalog (varies by product)
Platform fee $2.50 (10% of $25 on Free) Pixerr (10%, 5%, or 1% by plan)
Payment processing ~$0.75 (≈3%) Stripe (standard rates)
Your earnings (approximate) $9.75 Remainder after costs & fees
Ways to influence sales (without per-product pricing)
  • Upgrade your plan: Lower platform fees mean more per sale (see Subscriptions).
  • Store flash sale: Optional shop-wide percent-off banner in store tools (not a custom price per SKU).
  • Strong listings: Better mockups, titles, and descriptions improve conversion at the listed price.
  • Product mix: Some types have lower base costs and can earn more per order at the same markup rules.
Typical store price ranges

Exact prices depend on the synced catalog and markup; these are ballpark shopper-facing ranges:

  • T-shirts: often roughly $18–$30
  • Phone cases: often roughly $18–$28
  • Mugs: often roughly $15–$22
  • Posters: often roughly $20–$35

Step 4: Write Compelling Descriptions

Product Title Best Practices

Format: [Style/Theme] - [Product Type] - [Unique Feature]

Examples:

  • ❌ Bad: "Cool Design"
  • ✅ Good: "Mystical Forest Sunset - Premium T-Shirt - Soft Cotton"
  • ✅ Good: "Cyberpunk City Neon Lights - Phone Case - Durable Protection"
Product Description Formula
  1. Hook: Captivating opening about the design or feeling
  2. Features: Material, quality, printing technique
  3. Benefits: Why someone would want this
  4. Care Instructions: How to maintain the product
  5. Call to Action: Encourage purchase
Example Description:

"Transform your space with this stunning mystical forest at sunset design. Each piece features vibrant colors and intricate details that capture the magic of nature.

Features: Premium 100% cotton t-shirt, direct-to-garment printing for long-lasting color, soft and comfortable fabric, unisex sizing.

Perfect for: Nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, fantasy fans, or anyone who appreciates beautiful art.

Care: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, do not bleach.

Order now and bring a piece of enchantment into your everyday life!"

SEO Tips:
  • Include relevant keywords (e.g., "forest", "sunset", "nature")
  • Mention the product type multiple times
  • Use descriptive adjectives
  • Think about what customers would search for

Understanding Product Limits

Plan Limits & Quotas
Plan Products Collections Images Cost
Free Up to 24 Up to 6 150 $0/month
Creator Up to 1,000 Up to 150 10,000 $20/month
Pro Up to 10,000 Up to 500 50,000 $50/month
Understanding Image Storage:
  • Original product images never count toward your storage limit
  • WebP variants don't count — Pixerr automatically creates optimized versions for performance
  • Storage applies only to images you choose to keep — swap, regenerate, and evolve your products without worrying about hidden storage costs

What Happens When You Hit Limits?

  • Products: You can't create new products until you delete existing ones or upgrade
  • Images: You can't generate/upload new images until you delete some or upgrade
  • Collections: Free plan can't create collections; must upgrade
💡 Strategy: Focus on your best-performing products. Delete underperformers to make room for new designs, or upgrade to unlock more slots!

Organizing with Collections

What Are Collections?

Collections group related products together for easier browsing and themed marketing.

Collection Ideas:

  • By Theme: "Mystical Fantasy", "Cyberpunk Dreams", "Nature Escapes"
  • By Season: "Summer Vibes", "Cozy Winter", "Spring Blooms"
  • By Product Type: "Phone Accessories", "Wall Art", "Apparel"
  • By Style: "Minimalist", "Watercolor", "Bold & Graphic"
  • Special Events: "Holiday Collection", "Limited Edition"
Creating a Collection
  1. Go to Dashboard → Collections
  2. Click "Create Collection"
  3. Add a name and description
  4. Select products to include
  5. Publish to make it visible in your store
💡 Marketing Tip: Collections make great social media posts! Share themed collections to drive traffic to your shop.

Product Variants & Options

Managing Sizes, Colors & Options

Apparel Variants:

  • Sizes: Most apparel offers XS - 3XL
  • Colors: White, black, heather gray, navy, and more (varies by product)
  • Styles: Unisex, men's cut, women's fit

Automatic Variant Sync:

When you create a product in Pixerr Studio, Pixerr automatically includes all available variants for that product type:

  • Each size/color combination becomes a variant
  • Pricing updates across all variants
  • Inventory tracked per variant
  • Customers select their preferred option at checkout

Good news: You don't need to manually manage each variant—it's all automated!

Managing Your Products

Editing Existing Products

  1. Go to Dashboard → Products
  2. Find the product you want to edit
  3. Click "Edit"
  4. Update title, description, or artwork (store price stays automatic for physical products)
  5. Save changes

Note: Changes are reflected immediately in your store. Existing orders aren't affected.

Deleting Products

  1. Go to Dashboard → Products
  2. Select the product(s) to delete
  3. Click "Delete" and confirm

⚠️ Warning: Deleted products cannot be recovered. They'll be removed from your store and customer carts.

Duplicating Products

Want to create a similar product with different artwork?

  1. Find the product to duplicate
  2. Click "Duplicate" or "Clone"
  3. Edit the duplicated version
  4. Publish when ready

Use case: Create color variations, seasonal versions, or new product types with the same artwork!

Product Performance & Analytics

Track What's Working

Monitor these metrics in your Dashboard:

  • Views: How many people viewed the product
  • Likes/Hearts: Social proof and interest indicators
  • Sales: Total units sold
  • Revenue: Total earnings from this product
  • Conversion Rate: Views → Sales percentage
  • Referral Performance: Clicks, signups, and conversion rate from your ?ref share links
  • Store/Product Clicks: See how many visits your shop and product detail pages receive
Optimization Strategies
  • High Views, Low Sales: Improve mockups, run a store flash sale, or rewrite the description
  • High Likes, Low Sales: Listing or mockup may not match buyer intent—tighten title and call to action
  • Low Views: Improve SEO, share on social media, feature in collections
  • High Sales: Create more products with similar style/theme!

Best Practices for Success

✅ Do This
  • Use high-quality artwork (1024x1024+ resolution)
  • Write detailed, SEO-friendly descriptions
  • Choose product types with strong margins (catalog base cost varies)
  • Create product variations to test markets
  • Organize products into themed collections
  • Update products based on performance data
  • Share products on social media regularly
❌ Avoid This
  • Low-resolution or blurry images
  • Generic titles like "Product 1"
  • Expecting to set custom retail prices per product (not available yet for physical listings)
  • Copyright infringement (trademarked characters, logos)
  • Offensive or inappropriate content
  • Over-cluttered designs that don't read well
  • Ignoring customer feedback and reviews

Troubleshooting Common Issues

❌ "Product creation failed"

Possible causes:

  • You've reached your product limit for your plan
  • Image doesn't meet minimum resolution requirements
  • Network timeout during creation

Solutions:

  • Check your plan limits in Dashboard
  • Delete old products or upgrade your plan
  • Use images at least 1000x1000 pixels
  • Try again with stable internet connection

❌ "Design looks different in preview"

Common causes:

  • Mockup rendering may differ from final product slightly
  • Color profiles (RGB vs CMYK)
  • Scaling or positioning issues

Solutions:

  • Use Pixerr Studio to adjust fit, crop, and placement
  • Preview from multiple angles before publishing
  • Order a sample to see actual print quality
