Step 3: Generate Your First AI Artwork
Create AI Art
- Click "Create" in the navigation to open Pixerr Studio (Artwork Creator for AI generation)
- Choose an OpenAI image model for Pixerr AI from the sidebar (same list as in the Artwork Creator):
- GPT Image 1 Mini — fastest, lowest token use; great for drafts and experiments
- GPT Image 1 — balanced quality and cost for most artwork
- GPT Image 1.5 — highest detail among the GPT Image options; best when you need extra fidelity
- DALL·E 3 — alternative OpenAI image model; cost depends on settings (see estimate before Create)
- Write a descriptive prompt (e.g., "A mystical forest with glowing mushrooms at sunset")
- Select dimensions (512x512 up to 2048x2048) — larger is better for print quality!
- Click "Generate" and wait 30-60 seconds
💡 Pro Tip: Check out our AI Prompt Guide to learn how to write amazing prompts!
📐 Image Quality: For best print results, see our Artwork Requirements for recommended resolutions by product type.
Step 3B: Import Images from Remote URLs
Bring External Artwork into Pixerr
Already have artwork hosted on another site or CDN? Use Pixerr’s remote import to pull it straight into your gallery—no downloads required.
- Copy a direct HTTPS link to the image (JPG, PNG, or WebP). Links must be publicly accessible and under 10 MB.
- Visit
https://pixerr.com/import?imageUrl=YOUR_URL(or paste the URL after logging in). - If you are not signed in, finish logging in or creating an account. Pixerr will resume the import automatically after authentication.
- Once imported, Pixerr generates optimized WebP variants and adds the image to your gallery with a success banner.
- Open Pixerr Studio to rename the image, enable digital sales, or apply it to products just like any AI-generated asset.
- HTTPS links from public image hosts, CDNs, or your own website
- JPEG/JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10 MB
- Pixerr automatically converts unsupported formats (e.g. GIF) to PNG when possible
Important: Private/credentialed URLs, expiring signed links, or sources that block standard browser user agents may not import. Try downloading locally and uploading if a URL fails.
Step 4: Monetize Your Artwork
You have two ways to make money from your artwork on Pixerr:
Option 1: Physical Print-on-Demand Products
Turn Art Into Products
- From your Image Gallery, select an artwork you created
- Click "Create Product" to open Pixerr Studio, or use Store Setup for starter products across several types
- Choose a product type from the Studio catalog—for example:
- Apparel: DTG t-shirts, sublimated crew socks
- Phone & tech: iPhone and Samsung cases, laptop sleeves
- Home & wall art: Mugs, posters, canvas prints, coasters
- Calendars & gifts: Desk and wall calendars, puzzles, playing cards
- Position your art in Studio and preview the mockup (use a transparent PNG when you want the product color to show—see working with transparency)
- Add a title and description (Pixerr sets the store price from catalog cost + markup—you don’t enter a retail price for physical products yet)
- Click "Publish" to add to your store
Note: Platform fees (10% Free, 5% Creator, 1% Pro) and fulfillment costs come out of each sale—see How pricing works.
Option 2: Sell Digital Image Downloads
Enable Digital Sales
- From your Image Gallery, select an artwork you created
- Toggle "Show in Public Gallery" to make your image public
- The "Enable Digital Sales" section will appear automatically
- Toggle "Enable Digital Sales" to ON
- Set your price ($1-$999)
- Click "Save"
- Your image now has a "Add to Cart" button in your public gallery
- No production costs: Keep significantly more per sale
- Instant delivery: Buyers receive download links immediately
- Unlimited sales: Sell the same image as many times as you want
- Example: $10 digital download on Creator plan = $9.20 profit vs $9.75 for a $25 t-shirt
💡 Pro Tip: You can do both! Sell your artwork as digital downloads AND apply it to physical products to maximize your income streams.
Step 5: Set Up Stripe Connect for Payouts
Receive Payments
To receive payouts when your products sell, you must connect a Stripe account:
- Go to Dashboard → Settings
- Find the "Stripe Connect" section
- Click "Connect Stripe Account"
- You'll be redirected to Stripe to:
- Create a free Stripe Express account (or log into existing)
- Provide business information (individual or company)
- Add your bank account details for direct deposits
- Verify your identity (required by financial regulations)
- Once complete, you're ready to receive payouts!

Understanding Token Usage
Monthly & Hourly Limits
Tokens are credits used to generate AI artwork. Each plan has:
| Plan | Monthly Tokens | Hourly Burst Limit | Platform Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 300 | 200/hour | 10% |
| Creator ($20/mo) | 1,500 | 1,200/hour | 5% |
| Pro ($50/mo) | 4,500 | 1,200/hour | 1% |
Pixerr AI models & token costs
Pixerr AI is Pixerr’s built-in image generation, powered by OpenAI. In the Artwork Creator you choose the OpenAI model, plus quality and size—those choices determine how many tokens each image uses. The creator shows an estimate before you click Create; that estimate is what to trust day to day.
The table below uses typical costs for a common path (for example 1024×1024 at medium quality) so you can compare models at a glance. Your actual charge can be lower or higher depending on quality, aspect ratio, and server configuration.
| Model (in Artwork Creator) | Typical tokens (illustrative) |
Best For |
|---|---|---|
| GPT Image 1 Mini | ~3 | Drafts, prompt testing, high volume |
| GPT Image 1 | ~5 | General artwork, products, social graphics |
| GPT Image 1.5 | ~10–14 | Extra detail; raise quality for print-bound artwork |
| DALL·E 3 | Varies | When you want DALL·E 3 specifically—check the in-app estimate |
How Many Images Can I Generate?
Free Plan
300 tokens
≈ 100 images (GPT Image 1 Mini, typical ~3 tokens)
≈ 60 images (GPT Image 1, typical ~5 tokens)
≈ 30 images (GPT Image 1.5, typical ~10 tokens)
Creator Plan
1,500 tokens
≈ 500 images (GPT Image 1 Mini, typical ~3 tokens)
≈ 300 images (GPT Image 1, typical ~5 tokens)
≈ 150 images (GPT Image 1.5, typical ~10 tokens)
Pro Plan
4,500 tokens
≈ 1,500 images (GPT Image 1 Mini, typical ~3 tokens)
≈ 900 images (GPT Image 1, typical ~5 tokens)
≈ 450 images (GPT Image 1.5, typical ~10 tokens)

- Switch to GPT Image 1 or GPT Image 1.5 (and higher quality when needed) for final artwork—especially print products
- Watch the token estimate next to Create before each generation
- Tokens reset monthly—plan your generations strategically!
